People2people are currently working with a well-established truck dealership. We are looking for a Payroll Auditor to be based in Burton. The working hours are full time but can be flexible but will be from Monday to Friday. On a temporary basis for approximately 3 months.
The Role
As a Payroll Auditor specializing in Awards and Recognition, you will play a crucial role in ensuring accuracy and fairness in the payroll process related to awards, bonuses, and recognition programs within the organization. Your primary responsibility will be to conduct thorough audits and reviews of payroll records, processes, and calculations to verify the proper distribution of awards, bonuses, and other forms of recognition to eligible employees. By upholding the highest standards of compliance and integrity, you will contribute to a positive work culture, employee motivation, and engagement.
Responsibilities:
Award and Recognition Audit:
- Review and audit payroll records to verify the accurate calculation and disbursement of awards, bonuses, incentives, and recognition benefits.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, collective bargaining agreements (if applicable), and relevant laws and regulations.
- Determine employee eligibility for various awards and recognition programs based on established criteria and performance metrics.
- Work with HR and relevant departments to ensure the accurate identification of eligible employees.
- Ensure payroll processes and calculations align with company policies and procedures.
- Verify that all awarded amounts are appropriately documented and approved.
- Utilize data analysis techniques to identify discrepancies, trends, and anomalies in payroll records related to awards and recognition.
- Present findings and recommendations for process improvements.
- Prepare detailed reports summarizing audit findings, including any discrepancies or non-compliance issues identified during the auditing process.
- Maintain accurate and organized documentation for audit records.
- Collaborate with HR and payroll teams to implement improvements in payroll processes and systems related to awards and recognition.
- Streamline processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Handle all payroll-related information and audit findings with the utmost confidentiality and integrity.
- Adhere to ethical standards in dealing with sensitive employee data.
- Proven experience in payroll auditing, accounting, or a related field, with specific exposure to awards and recognition processes.
- Strong understanding of payroll systems, calculations, and payroll-related compliance requirements.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail to identify discrepancies and inconsistencies in payroll records.
- Proficiency in using spreadsheet software and data analysis tools.
- Knowledge of applicable labor laws, tax regulations, and collective bargaining agreements related to payroll.
- Exceptional communication skills to convey audit findings and recommendations effectively.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple audit tasks and deadlines.
