Our client is a commercial law firm with offices in both Melbourne and Sydney. THE ROLE
This role will see you supporting the Principal and one Senior Associate who specialise in Government, Planning & Environment. Your main duties will include but are not limited to:
- Proactively manage appointments, tasks and reminders for file work, hearings, settlements, client meetings, etc
- Transcription of digital dictation and general typing, including preparation of correspondence, agreements, advices and court documents
- File management of documents, including correspondence, letters and file notes
- Preparation of substantial amounts of documentation including barrister’s briefs, court books, compiling submissions
- Entering daily timesheets, preparing detailed bills in accordance with firm protocols and monthly deadlines
- Provide support with business development, tenders, court and advice work
- Screening telephone calls, assisting with client queries where appropriate, managing client expectations around communications
- General office duties (accounts, filing, photocopying, faxing, binding etc.)
The successful applicant will be dynamic, vibrant and ready to work in a busy and client focused team. Key to this role is a high level of attention to detail, exceptional organisation skills, and a positive approach to work. In addition to this you will possess:
- Excellent literacy and communication skills
- Professional and confident telephone manner
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Word 365 and Outlook. Additionally, exposure to a document management system eg. iManage 10.
- Working knowledge of litigation procedures in Victorian courts and tribunals (VCAT).
