Based in the Western Suburbs of Brisbane we are seeking an experienced Accountant to join their team on a 12 month contract.
the role:
Reporting to the Finance Manager and engaging with internal and external stakeholders, this role will play a key part in the delivery of multiple projects across finance and operations whilst supporting the finance team to cover periods of leave.
You duties will include, but not be limited to:-
- Prepare various financial reports for committees and councils, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow forecasts.
- Provide analysis and advice on any variance to budget with key stakeholders
- Complete annual financial statements and coordinate audit preparations.
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes, including analysing performance against budget and providing support to budget holders.
- Ensure accurate completion of financial returns and acquittals for government funding bodies.
- Maintain and improve finance procedures to meet compliance requirements and stakeholder needs.
- Collaborate with IT and other team members on system troubleshooting and enhancements.
- Support the Finance Manager in projects and process improvement initiatives.
about you:
You will be degree qualified with proven experience within a similar role with the ability to be both hands on and look at the financials at a higher level, the ability to be adaptable and happy to jump into other finance roles is essential for this position! Ideally you will demonstrate strong problem solving and business process improvement experience and the ability to work effectively with both finance and non-finance staff members.
