Hybrid flexibility (around 80% office-based)
We’re working with a well-established organisation that manages a major long-term public partnership project based in the heart of Sydney. They’re a small, high-performing finance team who take pride in accuracy, collaboration, and doing things the right way and they’re now looking for an Accounting Officer to join them.
This role reports directly to the CFO and gives you broad exposure across the entire accounting cycle — from transactional work through to management reporting, budgeting and process improvement.
The role In this position, you’ll play a key part in keeping the financial operations running smoothly. You’ll be responsible for:
- Processing invoices, payments and journals accurately and on time
- Preparing bank reconciliations and assisting with BAS submissions
- Supporting month-end close and producing management reporting packs
- Assisting with budgets, forecasts and financial statements
- Liaising with contractors, suppliers and internal stakeholders
- Identifying ways to streamline systems and processes
About you We’re looking for someone with:
- A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- At least 3 years’ experience in a similar accounting role
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
- Solid MYOB and Excel experience
- Excellent communication and the confidence to work across different stakeholders
