Han Ly: My Work Experience at people2people

Han Ly • January 2, 2017

I was really excited when I knew I was going to people2people for my work experience, as I was very interested to learn how a recruitment agency worked. During my work experience at people2people, I was fortunate enough to gain some experience working in a business environment with various tasks such as scanning, resume templates, checking ID’s, sending parcels and setting up meeting rooms. I was helped by Janet and Kat and everyone at people2people was very friendly and they always greeted me with a smile.

That made me feel very comfortable and I felt very welcome at people2people’s Sydney CBD office. Reflecting back to my first day at people2people, it was one of the most memorable days for me. After being introduced to everyone, I was asked to work with Kat at the front desk. I learned a lot from her, such as how to answer the phone and greeting candidates. I helped Kat to tidy up the interview rooms and I went with her when she has to send the parcels at the post office. Overall, I knew the receptionist’s tasks and responsibilities on my first day.

This helped me gain more knowledge on how this recruitment agency worked. I learned how the interview process worked and the testing the candidates are sometime required to do. They have their own interview in a private interview room and the recruiters would ask a series of questions. I was allowed to come into that room and listen to their interviews ( with the candidate’s permission, of course!). This was my most enjoyable experience. Thank you to people2people recruitment for giving me an opportunity to experience your work environment and making it a great week.
