Update on 'Backpacker Tax' 17 May 2016

Today, the Australian Assistant Treasurer and Minister for Small Business, Kelly O’Dwyer, announced that the so called ‘Backpacker Tax’ is to be put ON HOLD until January 2017. Therefore, this prospective tax will NOT come into effect on 1 July 2016. Working Holiday Makers to be taxed at least 32.5% from 1 July 2016
