Our Meet people2people series introduces our readers to the vibrant team that makes up people2people. Today's interview is with Alice Rettie, a consultant on our legal recruitment team. Born and brought up in Scotland, Alice travelled extensively after leaving school, living in Malawi and then travelling through most of central and eastern Africa, from Zimbabwe through to Kenya. Alice commenced her working life in London in the advertising industry before settling in Australia, joining the recruitment industry in Sydney. What's the most challenging part of your job?

Finding that right candidate for the job – not just skills, but personality and fit are equally as important.

What are the main qualities you look for in a resume?

Spelling and grammar and detailed information around the responsibilities of your current and previous roles.

What's your most valuable interview tip?

Ensure you do a lot of preparation prior to your interview, research the company online, look up who you are meeting, and go over your resume in detail. It's scary the amount of people who try to wing it.

Rugby league or rugby union?

Despite being Scottish…hands down rugby union.

What's your favourite spot in Sydney?

Manly, in my opinion is the most beautiful place in Sydney.
