Today in our Meet people2people series, we feature Christina Sclavos, Consultant, Western Sydney. In 2011, after completing a Bachelor of Business in Human Resource Management, Marketing & Tourism at the University of Technology Sydney, Christina joined people2people. Originally part of the Graduate Program, Christina was a member of onsiite and supported her colleagues with the administration of the recruitment process outsourcing division of the business. In August 2012, Christina joined the permanent business support team and is now responsible for her own portfolio of clients and candidates in Western Sydney. What’s the most rewarding part of your job?
I love being able to solve a problem. Speaking with candidates who I have been able to place in a role and seeing how happy they are within the position is a great feeling. Likewise, being able to find the right person for a position and hearing how pleased a hiring manager is with the outcome is, all round, a great result!
What is your most valuable interview tip?
Do your research! Interviewers are not expecting you to know the complete history of their organisation. However, showing your initiative and being proactive in doing your research will ensure you are putting your best foot forward.
What do you think is the primary key to career success?
Commitment. Recruitment itself is a roller coaster ride, and committing myself to reach my personal goals is one of my biggest motivators.
If you were a superhero, which superhero would you be?
Tomb Raider, simply because Angelina Jolie has to be one of my favourites.
Rugby league or union?
Definitely league. I am a Parramatta Eels and Hayne Plane supporter! (No, I am not being biased because I am in the Western Sydney team at p2p!)
What is your favourite spot in Sydney?
My favourite spot would have to be Mrs Macquarie's chair. The views are amazing!
