As the NRL season – and with it, the people2people Footy Tipping Competition – is coming to a close, we congratulate some of our recent weekly winners, who were awarded either a bottle of wine or movie tickets for being the top tippers of the week.

Congratulations to Bruce Balfour from Apparel Group. As a staunch rugby union fan (following the demise of the North Sydney Bears years ago), Bruce considers home ground advantage when doing his tips each week. Coming 471st, Bruce has yet to use his wildcards, but, even so, the top ten have nothing to be concerned about! Bruce loves the simplicity of our tipping site. 'The link on the regular reminder email takes me straight to the tipping page, and it is quick and easy.' Good luck for the rest of the season.

Max Giuliano is a long time supporter of the Roosters and has an enviable reputation for performing well in footy tipping comps – just not this year! Ah well, 2014 has not been a total disaster, as here he is collecting one of p2p's weekly prizes, two movie tickets. I think we can safely assume Max will not be using these tickets at the same time as the Roosters are playing.

Andrew Babbage has been a loyal participant in the people2people tipping competition. However, this is the first time he has been a weekly winner. Well done! Formerly a Tigers fan, Andrew has been converted to Souths by his son Liam, who met some high profile Souths players when they visited his school. Andrew puts all his tips in at the beginning of the season based on previous season form. His theory is that 'history will repeat itself'. He reviews these tips periodically throughout the season. Congratulations Andrew, enjoy the movies. Stay tuned for our announcement of the competition winners, who will be taking home NRL Grand Final tickets, a tablet or flight vouchers!
