LILY

"Lily was adopted a year ago and quickly settled into "office life” as our "Pawsitive Culture Officer". Lily's job at Canteen WA is to provide pats and love to young people and families impacted by cancer - clients come into our office for counselling and are greeted by our 4-legged colleague. For clients experiencing anxiety and stress, sitting by Lily’s bed for a quiet and calm introduction to the service is exactly what they need.  Also known as "Queen Lily" across our whole organisation, she is a fantastic emotional support for our staff team - always bringing smiles and positive vibes. Our team certainly experience hard days working with bereaved young people and cancer patients. Lily notices when a team member is having a hard day and approaches them, letting them know they are doing a good job and they are not on their own.  Lily has expanded her work paw-tfolio recently by attending Canteen Programs! These programs bring young people and families together for recreation and peer support with people who understand what it’s like to be impacted by cancer. Lily has attended a Painting Class in Kings Park, numerous office-based events and she looks forward to attending her first camp in October.  Aside from her beautifully calm nature, Lily brings joy to all in Nedlands with her funky outfits and silliness! Our office is situated around the hospital and other health services all around, so during breaks Lily struts her stuff on the street - often matching with her mum which brings the most laughter and joy to strangers. Lily has an extensive wardrobe and is often greeted on the street."
